What is HKVASP/HONGKONG VASP?

HKVASP/HONGKONG VASP stands for "Hong Kong Virtual Asset Service Provider"—a core regulatory term under the new Hong Kong VASP licensing regime introduced in 2023.

As of June 1, 2023, all platforms offering virtual asset trading, custody, or transfer services must be licensed under the Anti-Money Laundering Ordinance (AMLO) and supervised by the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission (SFC).
